ABOUT PORTOROŽ

Portorož is an urbanized coastal settlement in Slovenian Istria. It is considered one of the most famous tourist destinations in Slovenia. It is located on the northern coast of the Piran Bay in the municipality of Piran and is an important tourist, bathing and health resort. Portorož was locally known as a health resort as early as the 13th century. At that time, the Benedictines from the monastery of St. Lawrence has already treated some diseases with the help of sea water and salt mud from nearby salt pans.

Portorož has a Mediterranean climate with unspoiled nature, lots of greenery and healthy sea air. It offers you entertainment, peace, relaxation, recreation, thermal center, business centers for conferences, bike trails, sandy beaches and beautiful sunsets. You can also see the nature reserve of the Sečovlje saltpan, which produces high quality sea salt with the UNESCO-protected nature reserve Strunjan and unspoiled nature in the valley of the river Dragonja.
